Cabins & KAYAKS

At Evoke we know a little comfort at the end of a hards days paddling is what some explorers dream of, so we want to offer just that! Our lodge-based sea kayaking is packed with exploration and adventure, with just a little extra comfort. Hot showers, comfy beds, and gorgeous Norwegian cabins.

Carefully selected traditional Fisherman's cabins provide a cozy and comfortable base for this expedition. Each day we will have the freedom to explore a different corner of the island. Our experience of the local area allows us to carefully select the best paddling locations, making the most of the weather an exploring only the most spectacular stretches of coastline.

The Lofoten Archipelago is home to incredibly rugged wilderness, traveling by sea kayak gives us the opportunity to visit corners of the islands inaccessible to most. You'll get to really take in the magic of this unique and beautiful environment.

Route

Dates

With the flexibility of loading up our kayaks and traveling to different corners of the islands, we can cherry-pick each day's paddle. Choosing a journey that suits the weather conditions and the ability of the team we will get to explore some of the best stretches of coastline.

The map above highlights just some of our favorite journeys. From paddling through traditional fishing villages like Henningsvaer on the southwest tip of Austvagoya to weaving through the scattered islands and wildlife-rich nature reserves on the north. We will have the opportunity to circumnavigate outlying islands like the steep-sided Litlmolla or the rugged north coast island of Gimsoya.

There is such an amazing variety of landscapes to enjoy, from islands to steep fjords. Lofoten is one of the world's best sea kayaking destinations.

The nutrient-rich waters around the islands are home to some incredibly majestic animals. It is likely that we will paddle amongst whales, porpoise, and seals. Lofoten has a thriving sea eagle population. We may get to watch these huge birds, fly, hunt and feed their young, all from the comfort of our kayaks. The water is so clear and rich with wildlife, you'll find it hard not to be wowed by the world beneath your kayaks.

If the opportunity for a little fishing arris, we may be eating the freshest cod available for our dinner.

CABIN

We've selected a traditional fisherman's cottage based in the heart of the Lofotens. With breathtaking views, waterside decking and easy access to the best paddling on the islands.

After a long day on the water, there is nothing better than returning to a warm, dry cabin, grabbing a shower, and cooking up a wholesome meal in the evenings.

Twin rooms and shared facilities make this Norwegian cabin simple but cozy and comfortable for the adventurous sea kayaker.

Trip Guide

Erin Bastian - A UKCC Level 3 Sea Kayak Coach, 5* Leader, and founder of Evoke Adventure, will be guiding this expedition.

Erin has paddle worldwide, her passion for long-distance journeys has taken her to the remote West coast of Patagonia. Across the Agean sea, linking rugged islands scattered between Greece and Turkey, crossing large expanses of open water. As well as numerous expeditions leading teams in her favorite place arctic Norway.

Cold icy destinations really capture her imagination!
